Mount Edgcumbe House

Milton's Temple, the Amphitheatre, Mount Edgcumbe - A small valley garden overlooking Plymouth Sound with a shingle beach, a series of ponds and Milton's Temple. This is a circular Ionian temple, built around 1755 and has a plaque inscribed with lines from the poem Paradise Lost. Early plantings of camellias are found in the area.
