Crazywell Pool or Crazy Well Pool is a large pond situated below Cramber Tor near the path from Norsworthy Bridge (far end of Burrator reservoir) to Nun's Cross. Nearby, about 100 yards to the east, lies Crazywell Cross, one of a number of crosses that marks the route of the route of the Monks’ Path. This is the ancient name given to the track that links the Buckfast Abbey with those at Tavistock and Buckland.
The pool is thought to be the result of excavations by tin miners which was either used by them as a reservoir or were mine workings that subsequently flooded. The pool maintains a fairly constant level being fed by an underground spring and drained by subterranean drainage at its lower end. It has a surface area of about 0.86 acres and is about 110 yards long.
